Can you have a go at some of the activities below?

Activity 1

Can you colour in the pictures of the different animals from the story? This year (2021) is the Year of the Ox- do you know what an ox looks like?

 

Activity 2

 Can you download the puppets to make your own animal puppets having a race to role play and re-tell the story? You could use any toy animals or puppets that you might have at home to help you do this! 

 

You could also make your own tuff tray to support you to role play the story, creating your own river like in the picture below. Activity 4

Can you engage in some Chinese New Year story themed sensory play at home? There are some ideas and pictures for what you could at home below.

Use any toy animals or puppets you may have at home to help create a sensory tray to explore the animals racing. Rice and cooked spaghetti make a great base for the sensory tray! You can also dye them red or yellow (or any colour) to make it more exciting!

Can you watch a join in with this Chinese New Year Song? Join in using any instruments that you may have at home!

Activity 5

 Can you sing some of the Chinese New Year themed songs below at home? There is a backing track you can play along with each song as you sing.
