Creative - Pioneers - Body Percussion - Session 1

This is the first of a set of sessions where we use body percussion to play some rhythms, and rhythm grids to help us remember them.  Each session has a warm up, a main activity with a piece of music to play along to, and a final challenge activity.  

Warm up: Sevens

In this warm up you will learn some rhythms. It starts off very slowly but our aim is to get faster!  Have a go!

Main Activity: Body Percussion - Uptown Funk

 

In this activity we will learn 5 different rhythms using different parts of our body then play them with a piece of music.

Challenge:

Here is the first part of a challenge - don't be fooled and think it is easy!  Have a look at this video and learn the rhythmic pattern.  Do you recognise the piece of music it is from?

Have a look at this body percussion group - they have a version of the same piece.  It's amazing!
