Letter from Addington Association

Addington Association have emailed the letter below to parents and carers:

September 2020

Dear Parents and Carers

A big welcome to the new term at Addington School. For those of you that have children at the school for the first time, a very warm welcome to you.

We’re clearly experiencing unusual times but, my observation from the first few days back were how happy the children looked to be back at school seeing their friends and the teaching staff! Whilst things clearly aren’t quite ‘back to normal’ it certainly felt like a huge step has been taken.

For those you new to the school I’d like to take this opportunity to tell you a little about the Addington School Association. We are a small group made up of parents, teaching staff, friends and family of past and present Addington students. The Association is a registered charity and was formed to support the education of all pupils at Addington with the provision of additional equipment and facilities not normally provided by the Local Authority.  The Association also aims to provide social events that foster relationships between the families and others associated with the school. We meet a couple of times each term and are always looking for new members!

Currently our main aim is to raise funds for all things ‘sensory’. This could be for an indoor soft-play room, sensory garden equipment or outdoor playground equipment. During covid-19 we’ve had to scale back some of our normal fund-raising activities and are now looking for alternative ways to raise funds. More about this will follow in the coming weeks.

If you would like some more information about the Association please feel free to contact me on Dawn.AddingtonAssociation@gmail.com. We are also on Facebook, please visit our page – Addington Association.

I’ve look forward to sharing our first fundraising update in the near future.

Best wishes

Dawn Adams
